Emergency Medical Services Information

Escambia County Emergency Medical Services operates an internal training center that supports EMS employees, students and members of the community.

The center provides professional certification courses, continuing education opportunities and advanced training designed to strengthen emergency medical care throughout Escambia County.

EMS Training Center

Professional education and certification for employees and the public.

AHA Certification Courses

The training center provides American Heart Association ACLS, PALS and CPR training to EMS employees at no cost.

Courses are also available to members of the public for a minimal fee.

Continuing Education

The training center coordinates with the Target Safety web service to provide continuing education credits.

Critical Care Training

Critical Care training prepares eligible employees to sit for the national Critical Care Paramedic examination.

Education Partnerships

Supporting the next generation of emergency medical professionals.

Escambia County EMS works actively with local high schools and colleges to provide practical experience and professional guidance for students.

EMS personnel serve as preceptors for students participating in:

  • Paramedic programs
  • Emergency Medical Technician programs
  • First Responder programs

EMS Auxiliary Program

Volunteer experience for qualified paramedics and emergency medical technicians.

25 Auxiliary members

The EMS volunteer auxiliary program consists of 25 individuals who are either paramedics or emergency medical technicians.

Auxiliary members ride with ambulance crews to gain valuable experience as crew members and participate alongside EMS employees at public-service and community events.
