About Escambia County EMS

A progressive emergency medical system serving a diverse and growing community.

Escambia County Emergency Medical Services, a division of the Escambia County Department of Public Safety, provides Critical Care, Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support and bariatric transportation services to more than 300,000 residents.

Escambia County offers a unique and dynamic EMS environment, serving more than 50 miles of diverse coastal land that includes vibrant urban centers, rural communities and a major east-west interstate corridor.

Regional Hospital Support

Escambia County is supported by three major hospitals, including a Level II trauma center and the Florida Panhandle’s only Level I trauma center.

The Level I facility also serves as the regional pediatric trauma center and provides specialized maternal-fetal care and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
