The Employee Development policy may be used for classes taken on your own time for job enhancement or career development. See Employee Development Policy on this page.

See the Course Catalog here.

How do I register for a course?

Is there an Employee Development course calendar?

Yes, click here to view the Employee Development Training calendar.

Do I have to be a supervisor to attend the sessions?

Most sessions are designed for employees who are presently in supervisory positions and will be most beneficial to those who can immediately apply the learning. These sessions also prove to be beneficial to those who are about to become supervisors, and their attendance would be encouraged. Others should wait until their careers include (or are soon to include) supervisory responsibility.

Will you conduct customized sessions for departments?

Yes. Much of our time is spent working with directors, managers, and/or supervisors about specific departmental needs and customizing and conducting sessions for individual departments. The advantage of this is the entire department can receive the training at the same time and implement needed changes together.

Will the county pay for me to go to school to improve my knowledge and skills?

Yes. The county has a program called the Tuition Reimbursement Program which will assist employees with funding for certain portions of continuing education and certain professional certificates.
