Block-By-Block
The Escambia County Block-By-Block program assists Escambia County residents ages 16-24 in earning pay while learning construction skills that are in high demand. Qualified applicants attend 6-8 weeks of training in the construction industry with the goal of attaining a basic certification and being placed in high-paying jobs.
This program benefits minorities, females and low-income populations and includes training in Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Masonry, Plumbing and Welding.
Program Incentives
- Hourly wages paid during on-the-job-training
- Stipends (weekly supplemental pay for incidentals)
- Transportation provided if necessary
- Job placement after obtaining an industry certification
- Advanced training and certifications available
Program Criteria
- Ages 16-24
- No experience necessary
- No high school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to pass a drug test and remain drug-free
- Re-entry citizens accepted
