Escambia County will resubmit Leah Gardens as a Local Government Area of Opportunity under RFA 2021-201/Housing Credit Financing for Affordable Housing Developments Located in Small and Medium Counties as determined at the June 17, 2021 BCC meeting.
The County Commission approved at its July 22, 2021 meeting an application to be used by applicants seeking the required minimum Local Government Contribution under FHFC RFA 2021-205/SAIL Financing of Affordable Multifamily Housing Developments to be used in Conjunction with Tax-Exempt Bonds and Non-Competitive Housing Credits.
Due to tight timelines, developers should be mindful of the following proposed deadlines and should schedule required community meetings and pre-development reviews as soon as possible.
*RFA 2021-205 application deadline: Sept. 10, 2021 at 5 p.m. CST
8/26/21 NOTICE: The deadline for RFA 2021-205 has been extended from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10.

- For landlord and property concerns at HUD subsidized properties, the Multifamily Housing Complaint Line is a service provided by HUD's Multifamily Housing Clearinghouse that enables public citizens and residents of HUD-insured and assisted properties to report complaints with a property's management concerning matters such as poor maintenance, dangers to health and safety, mismanagement and fraud. It can be accessed by dialing 1-800-MULTI-70 (1-800-685-8470).
