The Office of Compliance and Ethics (OCE) located within the Escambia County Administrator’s Office, is responsible for promoting integrity, accountability and efficiency in the services provided to the citizens of Escambia County, Florida with the goal to enhance public trust in government.
OCE will accomplish this goal by promoting a countywide culture that establishes compliance and ethical conduct through assessment, reviews, mitigation, policy creation, monitoring, providing guidance and training.
PUBLIC TRUST
Escambia County Government is committed to demonstrating a high level of integrity and creating an ethical work environment. Employees of Escambia County are agents of the public they serve and hold their positions for the benefit of the public. To promote the public interest and maintain the public trust, employees must:
- Commit themselves to effective and responsible leadership as well as professional management of county business at all levels of government;
- Maintain a deep sense of social responsibility as a trusted public servant;
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, contractual obligations, as well as policies established by the County Commission and County Administrator;
- Be responsible stewards of the taxpayer funds by using county funds and resources in the most efficient, effective manner possible.
Suspected matters of unethical behavior, waste or abuse by county employees will be investigated by the OCE.
Employees of Escambia County shall not be subject to retaliation for reports made in good faith alleging fraud, waste, or abuse.
Information provided to the OCE will be maintained as confidential until such time as the investigation has been closed.
