Disability Awareness Committee
The Escambia County Disability Awareness Committee (ECDAC) was established by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), in its regular meeting on October 17, 2013, by adoption of Resolution Number R2013-126. The purpose of the ECDAC is to make recommendations regarding issues relating to the disabled community of Escambia County, Florida, and any other issues requested by the BCC.
The ECDAC is composed of seven voting members. All members of the ECDAC shall be electors of Escambia County. Each Commissioner on the BCC shall appoint one member to the ECDAC, and each member shall serve concurrently with their appointing Commissioner’s term. The BCC shall collectively appoint two At-Large members, who will serve a four-year term. All appointments are subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the BCC. The ECDAC establishes a schedule for regular meetings, which are held at least quarterly. Special meetings may also be called by the ECDAC Chairman on their own initiative or on the request of any three members.
