The Florida Association of Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D) was created in accordance with the Soil Conservation Act of April 27, 1935. The purpose of this Council is to coordinate RC&D activities throughout all project areas and actively speak for the RC&D program in Florida and on a national level. The goal is to improve resource, conservation and development in the State of Florida. The members of this Council shall represent the areas of Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties, and shall consist of a Chairman and two (2) delegates from each authorized project, and the Chairman of each applicant project. Advisors to this Council will consist of the Coordinator of the Soil and Water Conservation Office, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, President of Florida Association of Conservation Districts, and the Assistant State Conservationist for Water Resources of the Soil Conservation Service or their appointed alternates. The members shall serve for a period of one (1) year and are eligible for reappointment.
