Speaker and Exhibits
Speakers shall be allotted three (3) minutes unless otherwise determined by the Chair.
Members of the public who would like to present a video, photo, PowerPoint, electronic presentation, or other visual aid when speaking at an Escambia County Board of County Commissioners Meeting or Public Forum must adhere to the following guidelines to help ensure presentations are conducted in a professional, secure, legal and efficient manner:
- Visual aids must be submitted to Escambia County no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting to ensure technical compatibility and ensure that the materials adhere to Federal Communications Commission guidelines. Visual aids should be submitted via email to the Escambia County Community and Media Relations Department at [email protected], or via removable media device/USB drive delivered to the Community and Media Relations office at 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida, Suite 410. Any removable media device/USB drive must be scanned for malware by CMR before it can be approved for use, using a process determined by the Escambia County Information Technology Department.
- Any individual wishing to present a visual aid must state so on their speaker request form when signing up to speak at a BCC meeting.
- Visual aids must be no longer than 3 minutes or must remain within the time allotted to each speaker, as determined by the BCC Chair.
- The presenter must be familiar with the content of the items they are presenting and be able to answer questions to confirm the materials do not contain graphic or profane content that would be unsuitable for some audiences.
The BCC Chair has discretion to allow for visual aids to be submitted less than 24 hours prior to the meeting on a case-by-case basis. Presenters with late submissions of visual aids may be moved to the end of the public forum to allow staff an opportunity to confirm the material complies with this policy.
The BCC Chair reserves the right to accept or reject any submitted content at the Chair’s discretion, without notice or liability.
