  • FDOT to Hold Public Meeting Regarding Pensacola Bay Bridge

    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public hearing concerning the replacement of the Pensacola Bay Bridge on Tuesday, June 10, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Grand Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, 200 East Gregory Street. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6 p.m.

  • Lane Restrictions on Scenic Highway at Baywoods Drive

    Drivers will encounter daytime lane restriction on Scenic Highway (U.S. 90) south of Interstate 10 in the vicinity of Baywoods Drive beginning today, Wednesday, June 4, to allow crews to remove and replace guardrail, perform asphalt work and place rip rap. Work is expected to take five days to complete.

  • Upcoming Night Work on I-110 at Airport Boulevard Overpass and Davis Highway

    Crews will perform maintenance work on the Airport Boulevard (State Road 750) overpass bridge on I-110. The northbound shoulder will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, to midnight Thursday, June 5. \r\n\r\nDrivers traveling northbound on Davis Highway (State Road 291) near the University Mall will encounter lane restrictions from 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, to midnight Friday, June 6, as crews close the right turn lane into the mall to be able to remove overhead signage. \r\n

    Crews will perform bridge maintenance repairs on Interstate 10 at the end of the Perdido River Bridge. The eastbound outside lane will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, June 3, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 4. Alabama Highway Patrol will be on site to assist with traffic control.

  • Night Work on Interstate 10 / U.S. 29 Ramps

    The eastbound Interstate 10 (I-10) ramp to southbound U.S. 29 will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, June 3, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, as crews install barrier wall. Motorists will be directed to use the northbound U.S. 29 ramp during the temporary closure. \r\n\r\nThe exit ramp from eastbound I-10 to northbound U.S. 29 will be closed Wednesday, June 4, and Thursday, June 5. Lane closures will be in effect from 10 p.m.to 6 a.m. nightly as crew install guardrail and remove temporary barrier wall. Motorists will be directed to use the southbound U.S. 29 off ramp during the temporary closure. Drivers are reminded to use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone.\r\n

  • Escambia County to Receive Due Funds from Hurricane Ivan

    On Tuesday, May 20, Escambia County Commission Chairman Lumon May addressed a letter to Florida Governor Rick Scott asking for additional financial relief related to Hurricane Ivan, which struck the County in September 2004 causing approximately $226 million in damages.\r\n\r\nLate Friday evening, Escambia County received notification that it will receive a payment from the Florida Division of Emergency Management for approximately $3,200,000 to $4,200,000 within the next week. These owed funds will assist with further relief efforts from the flooding event of April 29. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  • Governor Scott Visits Escambia County EOC

    The right lane of westbound Interstate 10 near the Scenic Highway overpass at exit 17 in will be closed from 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, to 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4. The lane closure will allow crews to position a large construction crane.

  • Clerk's Office Issues Virus Email Warning

    The Escambia County Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office has been notified that local residents have received scam emails of a “Notice to Appear” or “Warrant to Appear” from the Clerk’s Office. The emails inform the recipients that they are scheduled to report to court and it instructs the person to read an attached PDF document. These emails contain a virus and are not originating from the Escambia County Clerk’s Office as the Clerk’s Office only corresponds information via U.S. Mail.
