  • Escambia County celebrates new surgical wing at animal shelter

    Dignitaries, staff, volunteers and members of the Escambia County community gathered at the Escambia County Animal Shelter on March 4 to celebrate the facility’s new surgical wing.\r\n\r\nFunded by Local Option Sales Tax (L.O.S.T.) dollars, the new $350,000 surgical wing features a surgery suite with two operating tables, laboratory, dog and cat surgery preparation and recovery rooms, wash station, laundry, food preparation and veterinarian office space. Covering 13,000 square feet and built with new surgical cost saving technologies, the additional space will allow for a shorter wait time for new adoptive families or those who qualify for the *low cost spay and neuter program.\r\n\r\nEscambia County is committed to working in partnership with the community to create a safe, healthy and caring environment for both citizens and animals, promoting citizen safety, responsible pet ownership and education in the reduction of animal over population.   • Public Works Department April Storm Damage Recovery Update

    Since the flooding event of April 29 and 30, the Escambia County Public Works Department have been working diligently to repair damaged infrastructure in the County, including roads, bridges, sidewalks and drainage systems.\r\nThe attached graph details the following information:\r\n• Total County infrastructure damage sites – 2,138 \r\n• Damage sites completed or repaired – 1,627\r\n• Damage sites assigned for design or repair – 355\r\n• Remaining sites to be assigned – 156\r\n

  • FEMA Registration Deadline Extended
