The RESTORE Advisory Committee will hold a special workshop on, Tuesday, January 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Central Office Complex, 3363 West Park Place, Room, 104. The objective of this workshop is to discuss and provide input for the Project Selection Criteria which will then be reviewed during the Monday, February 2, monthly RESTORE Advisory Committee Meeting.

With the backing of District 5 Commissioner Barry and the Escambia County Commission, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will install a traffic signal in Molino at the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 97. The installation is slated to begin in December at a cost of more than $250,000 paid for by Escambia County. Construction is expected to be complete by February 2015.

Escambia County UF/IFAS Extension will be offering a one-day workshop to help growers develop their own food safety manuals on Friday, January 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the end of the workshop, your farm will have a ready to print copy of the main components of a food safety manual and a plan for your own farm.

Pam Childers, Escambia County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller, announced today that effective Tuesday, January 6, 2015, her office will begin issuing same sex marriage licenses in accordance with the federal court rulings in Brenner v. Scott, 4:14-cv-00107-RH-CAS, and Grimsley v. Scott, 4:14-cv-00138-RH-CAS.
