Closing Program Scheduled for Play, Learn, Grow Summer Feeding/Activities Program

Play, Learn, Grow, a County-funded summer camp program is coming to a close this week. To celebrate, the Neighborhood and Human Services Department will host a closing program entitled "Celebrating the Success of the Escambia County…Play, Learn, Grow Summer Feeding/Activities Program.” As a thank you for such a great summer, each of the 140 participating youth will receive a backpack filled with school supplies.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 7 in the Oakcrest Elementary School Cafeteria. Parents of participating youth, community partners, workshop presenters and community leaders are encouraged to attend the program. Lunch will be provided.

Program:

Opening Remarks (3 Minutes): District 3 Commissioner Lumon May, Escambia County Administrator Jack Brown

Program Review (3 Minutes Each): Site Supervisor, Leroy Williams

Community Partners (3 Minutes Each): Bay Area Food Bank, Ebonwood, Oakcrest, Gary Circle Homeowners Association, GSI Recycling, Oakcrest Elementary School, Community Drug and Alcohol Commission, Children's Home Society of Florida 

Lunch Break

Performances & Presentations (20 Minutes): Our Participating Youth

Words of Encouragement (1 Minute): A Volunteer; (2 Minutes Each): A Staff member; (2 Minutes Each): A Parent
