Larvicide and Adulticide Products

Larvicides are products applied directly to water sources that kill immature mosquitoes before they become adults. They can be biological or chemical, with the goal of reducing the number of new mosquitoes that reach adulthood. Adulticides are products used to kill adult mosquitoes. Adulticides can be applied from hand-held sprayers, truck-mounted sprayers or using airplanes. Adulticides can have an immediate impact on the number of adult mosquitoes in an area, with the goal of reducing the number of mosquitoes that can bite people.

Escambia County uses a variety of products to control the mosquito population. The Material Safety Data Sheets contain information about the properties of each product used. The MSDS and product labels for these mosquito control products are listed below:
