The Florida Department of Transportation will temporarily close Canal Drive at Perdido Key Drive (State Road (S.R.) 292) in Escambia County from 8 a.m. Monday, July 11 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 22 to reconstruct Canal Drive as part of the S.R. 292 (Perdido Key/Sorrento Road) improvement project.

The 200th Anniversary Commission invites the public to the closing event for Florida’s Bicentennial Celebration on Sunday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Museum Plaza, located at 120 Church St. behind the Pensacola Museum of History. This community celebration will close out the commemoration of Florida’s Territorial Bicentennial, when Florida officially became a territory of the United States on July 17, 1821. The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

The Navy Point boat ramp, located at Sunset Avenue and Southeast Syrcle Drive, will experience temporary closures Tuesday, June 27 through Wednesday, June 28 to allow for restriping. The boat ramp is expected to re-open for use by Thursday, June 29.
