As COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to decline, Escambia County will discontinue the COVID-19 dashboard featuring daily hospitalization updates and weekly death totals effective Saturday, Nov. 6. The last day Escambia County will track local hospitalizations and death totals will be Friday, Nov. 5.

The Peanut Butter Challenge, UF/IFAS Extension’s annual jar collection for local food pantries that launched in the Florida Panhandle in 2012, is again spreading statewide this year. Donate unopened jars of peanut butter by Nov. 24, 2021, to help feed families ahead of the holidays.

Pensacola Beach Lifeguards shifted to winter staffing levels on Monday, Oct. 18, and the lifeguard towers have been taken off the beach until the 2022 lifeguard season. Lifeguards will maintain a presence on Pensacola Beach throughout the winter primarily via patrol vehicles, but they will have a presence at the Casino Beach location only.
