Beginning Wednesday, July 27, West Lee Street, between North "T" Street and North "W" Street, North "T" Street at West Lee Street, North "U" Street at West Lee Street, and North "V" Street at West Lee Street will all experience intermittent road closures with detours while construction crews install a new sanitary sewer system along West Lee Street.

Pensacola Beach celebrated its first sea turtle hatch of the season in the evening of Sunday, July 24. 84 loggerhead hatchlings safely reached the Gulf of Mexico, despite being disoriented by artificial lighting. Escambia County Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers arrived on site in time to assist with the hatchling response.

Life Options Clinic, a family resource center, will soon celebrate their one-year anniversary of their Century branch, located at 511 Church St. As a non-profit volunteer organization, Life Options Clinic acts as a support system for women and their families. The clinic encourages community concern by working with other agencies to meet the physical and emotional needs of mother, father and child.

The program is designed to provide assistance for homeowners struggling to pay mortgages or utilities due to COVID-19. Funded under the Community Development Block Grant Corona Virus Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program, eligible households may receive assistance of up to but not exceeding three (3) months' costs, or $8,000.00.
