groundbreaking for the Delano Area Drainage Improvements Project Tuesday, Aug.
15 at 9 a.m. The site of the groundbreaking is directly across from the
Escambia County Central Office Complex, located at 3363 W. Park Place. One or
more Escambia County Commissioners may be in attendance.

Additional details: The Delano
Area Drainage Improvements Project's goal is to improve drainage for Delano
Street and areas downstream. One component includes modifying existing
stormwater facilities and infrastructure to increase efficiency and capacity.
This will be achieved by improving existing pond sites within the project
drainage area as well as constructing new pond sites on project property. The
reduced flood impacts will improve access to roadways in the area during
significant storm events, thus reducing the frequency of flooding during these
events.
