A structure fire on the 6200 block of Trent Street represents the sixth red bulb on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath. Escambia County Emergency Communications received a call reporting the mobile home fire at 5:05 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15. Crews arrived on scene to find the mobile home on fire and 50 percent involved.

With low temperatures forecast to drop below 35 degrees, the National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for inland Escambia County until 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Temperatures will likely drop to the upper 20's to lower 30's across most locations away from the immediate coast and in isolated rural areas.

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Perdidio Landfill, located at 13009 Beulah Road. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.
