    The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at Washington High School, located at 6000 College Parkway. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.

  • Sept. 7 Hurricane Irma Update

    According to the National Hurricane Center, Irma is a potentially catastrophic Category 5 hurricane. Severe hurricane conditions are expected over portions of the Florida peninsula and the Florida Keys and beginning late Saturday. Irma could make landfall in southern Florida as a dangerous major hurricane, and bring life-threatening storm surge and wind impacts to much of the state.

    According to the National Hurricane Center, Irma continues to be a potentially catastrophic Category 5 hurricane. The threat of direct hurricane impacts in Florida over the weekend and early next week has increased. While the storm is tracking more favorably away from our area, it is important to understand that the projected storm track is still subject to change.
