A structure fire on the 3600 block of West Cervantes represents the third red bulb on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath. Crews arrived on scene at 2:55 p.m. to find a working fire with flames showing from the entire front of the single family home.

With low temperatures forecast to drop below 35 degrees, the National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for inland Escambia County until 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Temperatures will likely drop to the upper 20's to lower 30's across most locations away from the immediate coast and in isolated rural areas.

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Perdidio Landfill, located at 13009 Beulah Road. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.
