FDOT: Traffic Pattern Changes at Creighton Road/9th Avenue Intersection

ChipleyThe following traffic pattern changes will take place on Creighton Road and 9th Avenue in Escambia County the week of Monday, March 26 as workers continue widening activities on 9th Avenue and paving operations on Creighton Road at intersection.

  • 9th Avenue:
    • Southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane approaching the intersection to allow crews to install a traffic separator on the south side of the intersection.
    • The dedicated right and left turn lanes onto Creighton Road will remain open.
  • Creighton Road at 9th Avenue will be placed into its final configuration as follows:
    Eastbound:
    • Two dedicated left turn lanes onto northbound 9th Avenue.
    • Two thru lanes.
    • One dedicated right turn lane onto southbound 9th Avenue.

Westbound:

    • One dedicated right turn lane onto northbound 9th Avenue.
    • Two thru lanes.
    • One dedicated left turn lane onto southbound 9th Avenue.

9th Avenue Traffic Shift

Construction activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers use caution, especially at night, when traveling through the work zone, and watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
