The UF/IFAS Extension Escambia County Master Gardeners recently donated 435 plants totaling $2,175 to the local ARC Gateway Nursery Program. The Escambia County Master Gardener program is a volunteer-staffed, educational outreach of the Escambia County/University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service.

Escambia County collected and disposed of more than 58 tons (117,540 pounds) of debris during the June 14 Lincoln Park Neighborhood Cleanup, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The event allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.

A new walking track and basketball court at OId Ensley Park have been completed and are open for public use, adding to other upgrades already completed at the park since 2015. Old Ensley Park, located at 107 W. Detroit Blvd., remained open during construction.
