The UF/IFAS Escambia County Extension will host the 2018 Farm Tour beginning at 8:15 a.m. Friday, May 11. The tour will depart from the Escambia County Central Office Complex, located at 3363 West Park Place.
The tour will discuss local agriculture and include stops at Johnson's Beekeeping and Escarosa Beekeepers Association, a behind the scenes view at Renfroe Pecan, youth livestock projects at Pensacola Interstate Fair, Pensacola Bay Oyster Farm, and timber production on Perdido Bay. The farm tour is the work of a committee made up of representatives from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, UF/IFAS Extension Escambia County, Escambia County Farm Bureau, Florida Forest Service and the Escambia County Department of Natural Resources Management.
The cost is $20 per participant, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and transportation. Dress is cotton casual, but closed-toe shoes are required. Participants must be 18 years or older and must be able to handle a good bit of walking and loading onto motorcoaches.
