Escambia County students ages 5-15 are invited to participate in the Play, Learn, Grow Summer Camp and Teen Leadership Program at the Brownsville Community Resource Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St. Play, Learn, Grow offers a stimulating environment for youth ages 5-12, with recreation, arts and crafts, educational activities and more. The Teen Leadership Program is open to youth ages 13-15.

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, May 12 from 8 a.m. until noon in the north parking lot of Pensacola High School, located at 500 W. Maxwell St. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.

Escambia County collected and disposed of more than 59 tons (119,240 pounds) of debris during the April 18 Brownsville Northeast Neighborhood Cleanup, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The event allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.
