Escambia County collected and disposed of more than 50 tons (101,560 pounds) of debris during the Ensley North and Ensley South Neighborhood Cleanups in January and February, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The events allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at Bailey Middle School, 4110 Bauer Road. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.

Interstate Circle will experience short-term lane closures beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m. Interstate Circle between Interstate Court and Brewer Drive will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured along Pine Forest Road to Franciscan Drive, onto Inda Avenue and Wymart Road.
