The intersection of Beulah Road and West Nine Mile Road will experience a night detour and closure from Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m until Monday, Oct. 1 at 6 a.m. Traffic will be detoured from West Nine Mile Road to Rebel Road onto Beulah Church Road. The road closure is expected to remain in effect for approximately one day. Every effort will be made to expedite construction to reopen the road before Monday, Oct. 1 at 6 a.m.

Residents in the Crescent Lake area will have the opportunity to dispose of yard debris and other items free of charge Wednesday, Oct. 3 during the Crescent Lake Neighborhood Cleanup in District 1. Only residents in the designated cleanup area are able to participate in the neighborhood cleanup. Items left at the curb outside of the cleanup area will not be collected. The general cleanup area is south of East Shore Drive, north of Michigan Avenue, east of Crescent Lake and west of Empire Drive.

Escambia County collected and disposed of approximately 30 tons (57,960 pounds) of debris during the Sept. 19 Brownsville Northwest Neighborhood Cleanup, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The event allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.

The Ridgefield Road closure that was scheduled to take place Thursday, Sept. 20 has been rescheduled to begin Friday, Sept. 21 from from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be detoured along Olive Road to Monticello Drive, around the north intersection of Ridgefield Road onto Monticello Drive.

The South Old Corry Field Road Improvement Project is scheduled to begin at the end of September. This project not only replaces the bridge which was temporarily repaired after the 2014 floods, but will double the outfall capacity of the basin, reducing the flooding risks for the Warrington and Lake Charlene areas.Construction costs are estimated at $3.4 million, funded by local option sales tax, and the project will take just over a year to complete, weather permitting.
