Quintette Community Center

WESCO Senior Center
 
  • Neighborhood Watch Program: Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. A variety of speakers come to provide information on crime and more within Myrtle Grove and surrounding areas. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
  • Monthly Board Meeting: Thursday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. Discuss the business of the senior center and other concerns.
  • Monthly Luncheon: Saturday, Oct. 12
  • Independent Living Association Seminar: Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. A representative from the Independent Living Association will do a seminar on independent living for seniors.
  • Dollar Bag Sale: Thursday, Oct. 17 at 8:30-11 a.m. Fit all the clothes, shoes and purses you can fit in a bag for just $1.
  • AARP Drivers Class. Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8:30 a.m. Participants must preregister between 7 a.m.-noon. This class is open to everyone.
  • Imperial Palace Casino: Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 8 a.m. Depart at 8 a.m. for Imperial Palace Casino. Participants must prepay a $15 fee and sign up to make a reservation on the bus. Each participant will receive $20 free play. There will be no refunds for no shows or cancellations. Open to members only.
  • Member Appreciation Party: Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. Food, fun and fellowship for all. This event is to appreciate all members of the senior center. Food will be provided by the center. Attendees must be a member thirty days prior to the party.
  • Senior Night Out: Occurs on the first, third and fourth Fridays of each month from 6-9 p.m. Members and guests. Free coffee, dancing, fellowship and entertainment by Curtis Hall and and the Wesco stage band on the first and third Fridays. The fourth Friday's entertainment is Southern Star Band. Attendees may bring a snack to share.
Weekly Activities
  • Chair Exercise: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30-9 a.m. Members only.
  • Bunco Games: Mondays and Fridays at 9:30-11 a.m. $2 suggested donation for members; $3 for nonmembers. Donations go toward door prizes for the winners.
  • Tai Chi Classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9-10 a.m. Free to all nonmembers; $3 suggested donation from nonmembers to participate.
  • Hand and Foot Card Games: Tuesdays at 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Members only.
  • Senior Bingo Day: Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. Open to members and nonmembers.
  • Bridge Card Games: Wednesdays at 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Members only.
  • Pinochle Card Games: Wednesdays at 12:15-3:30 p.m. Members only.
  • Line Dance Class: Thursdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. Beginners class is from noon to 12:30 p.m. and the regular class is from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Free for members; $3 donation requested for nonmembers.
  • Mexican Train Games: Fridays at 12:15-3:30 p.m.
