  • East Fence Road Closure Begins Tuesday

    Beginning Tuesday Nov. 20 at 7 a.m., East Fence Road between Saufley Field Road and Saufley Pines Road will be closed to thru traffic. Traffic will be detoured along Saufley Field Road onto Blue Angel Parkway, and then onto Saufely Pines Road. The intermittent lane closure will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Tuesday, Nov. 27.

    The Escambia County Marine Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting Monday, Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Escambia County Central Office Complex, located at 3363 West Park Place, room 104.   • FDOT: Nine Mile Road Temporary Closure Rescheduled

    Chipley- Due to inclement weather conditions, the temporary road closure of Nine Mile Road at the U.S. 29 overpass in Escambia County has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 and Monday, Nov. 19 for crews to place beams for the new northbound bridge. Eastbound Nine Mile Road traffic will be reduced to one lane, detoured to U.S. 29 South, perform a U-turn at West Hood Drive, and return to Nine Mile Road. Westbound traffic will utilize U.S. 29 North, perform a U-turn at West 9 1/2 Mile Road, and return to Nine Mile Road. Traffic control officers will be on-site to help direct traffic.
