Escambia County Community Centers will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day and Thursday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of Thanksgiving.

WESCO Senior Center
 
  • Mission in Motion Program: Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8:30 - 11 a.m. Get your flu shot and more. This event is open to the public.
  • Neighborhood Watch Program: Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public to discuss crime and other concerns in Myrtle Grove and surrounding areas.
  • Monthly Board Meeting: Friday, Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m. Discuss the business of the senior center and other concerns.
  • Thanksgiving Luncheon: Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. Join us for a Thanksgiving lunch with turkey and other dishes. Only members may attend.
  • Dollar Bag Sale: Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8:30-11 a.m. Shop at the community center's thrift store. Fit all the clothes, shoes and purses you can fit in a bag for just $1.
  • Pic and Grin: A senior night outing that occurs on the first, third and fourth Fridays of each month from 6-9 p.m. Members and guests. Free coffee, dancing, fellowship and entertainment by Curtis Hall and and the Wesco stage band will be provided on the first and third Fridays. The fourth Friday's entertainment is Southern Star Band. Attendees may bring a snack to share.
Weekly Activities
  • Chair Exercise: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30-9 a.m. Members only.
  • Bunco Games: Mondays and Fridays at 9:30-11 a.m. $2 suggested donation for members and $3 for nonmembers. Donations go toward door prizes for the winners.
  • Tai Chi Classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9-10 a.m. Free to all nonmembers; $3 suggested donation from nonmembers to participate.
  • Senior Bingo Day: Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. Open to members and nonmembers. Bingo will be canceled on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
  • Line Dance Class: Thursdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. Beginners class is from noon to 12:30 p.m. and the regular class is from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Free for members; $3 donation requested from nonmembers.
