Residents of Barrancas will have the opportunity to dispose of yard debris and other items free of charge Friday, March 12 during the Neighborhood Cleanup in District 2. Only residents in the designated cleanup area are able to participate in the neighborhood cleanup. Items left at the curb outside of the cleanup area will not be collected. See the map below for the details of the cleanup area.

Due to the closure of the Pensacola Bay Bridge, traffic exiting Pensacola Beach is expected to be heavier traveling eastbound toward the Garcon Point Bridge this weekend. In order to mitigate traffic congestion, on March 6 and 7 from 1 to 7 p.m., cones will be placed on S.R. 30/U.S. 98 prior to the S.R. 399 flyover for eastbound traffic. These cones will direct vehicles to the left lane while beach traffic will be directed into the right lane of S.R. 30/U.S. 98.

As Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) contractors were conducting repairs to the Pensacola Bay Bridge, it was determined that additional repair work was needed for one of the bridge’s trophy pieces. The full replacement of the trophy piece will uphold FDOT’s commitment to provide the safe and efficient reconnection of the communities of Gulf Breeze and Pensacola and the delivery of a bridge that has a 75-year design life.
