    Escambia County encourages residents to join in observing National Blood Donor Month for January 2021 with OneBlood. January has been recognized as National Blood Donor Month for over 50 years. OneBlood has served as the sole blood supplier for every local hospital in the Pensacola area, and the Board of County Commissioners has recognized OneBlood for their great work in the community.

  • Wintry Weather Possible Late Sunday Night into Monday Morning

    The National Weather Service of Mobile is forecasting wintry weather after midnight on Monday through the early morning hours on Monday, likely ending around 8 or 9 a.m. Escambia County will likely see cold rain; however a mix of cold rain and sleet/ice pellets is forecasted across parts of interior southeast Mississippi and interior southwest Alabama. No accumulation or impacts are expected at this time.

  • UF/IFAS Extension Offering Training Course for Pesticide Licensing

  • Escambia County Fire Rescue Receives Grant for Thermal Imaging Cameras

    Escambia County Fire Rescue is pleased to announce it received the Ascend Cares Community Impact Grant in the amount of $4,200. With these funds, ECFR purchased three FLIR K2 thermal imaging cameras and four gas detectors that were recently distributed to fire stations 3 in Brent, 17 in West Pensacola and 22 in Bratt.

  • The Escambia County Family CARES Grant Program Closes

    The Escambia County Family CARES Grant program application and verification process, which began on Sept. 25, has officially closed. The county approved 5,500 households for the $3,000 grants. Escambia County residents will receive $16.5 million from this appropriation program. In its four-day application window, the county received a higher than anticipated volume of applications with 9,558 households submitting information.
