This is a chance for residents to dispose of items such as old furniture, appliances and household waste free of charge. Yard debris is eligible for removal during this cleanup.

River Road will experience a road closure with detours beginning Tuesday, July 11. During this time, construction crews will install a new box culvert under the roadway. The closure will extend 175 feet in both directions from the creek adjacent to 14620 River Road. The road is expected to re-open by October 2023, with work expected to be completed by November 2023.

On Saturday, June 17, Escambia County Fire Rescue held the 2023 ECFR Awards Ceremony at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Emceed by NewsRadio 92.3's Andrew McKay, several medals, citations and certificates were distributed to several firefighters, along with the recognition of individual promotions.

Escambia County will waive permitting fees beginning Friday, June 16, 2023, at 8 a.m. for storm damage repairs to buildings and fences resulting from the severe weather occurrence in the region on June 15-16. The grace period will last until close of business at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16, 2023.

Escambia County Building Services will be assessing the exterior electrical services for homes with power outages in the DeLuna Point and La Bahia areas of Pensacola Beach Friday, June 16. Electrical services without damage will be approved to be re-energized by the utility provider.
