In an effort to reduce the mosquito population in Escambia County, the Mosquito Control Division has filed a "Notice of Intent" to proceed with fogging missions Monday, June 3, in commission districts 1 and 2. Mission hours vary, but typically occur in the evening hours from 6-9:30 p.m. All operations are dependent on weather conditions.

Escambia County Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers recorded Perdido Key’s first sea turtle nest of the season early this morning, May 31. After an earlier false crawl in Perdido Key, staff and volunteers are thrilled to finally receive a nest. June and July are the busiest nesting months in Escambia County, so more nests are expected in the coming weeks.
