The Escambia County Office of Purchasing will host a free vendor open house open Monday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 213 Palafox Place in the purchasing office, second floor conference room. The event is open to current and prospective vendors interested in learning more about the county's procurement process.

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners will hold its regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 8. Agenda review begins at 9 a.m., public forum begins at 4:30 p.m. and the regular meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. All meetings will take place in the board chambers of the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, located on the first floor of 221 Palafox Place.

This is a chance for residents to dispose of items such as old furniture, appliances and household waste free of charge. Yard debris is not eligible for removal during this cleanup.

Escambia County Engineering will begin a resurfacing paving project on County Road 399, Pensacola Beach Blvd., and the intersection with Fort Pickens Road. Resurfacing work in the intersection will begin on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, and is expected to last four days. Work will be conducted from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Resurfacing on the southbound lanes of Pensacola Beach Blvd. will begin at the south end of the toll plaza on Feb. 12, 2024. The entire project is to be completed within 30 days.
