Chestnut Road between Chance and Barrineau Park roads will be closed to thru traffic beginning Thursday, Nov. 16, while construction crews perform structural work to the Chestnut Road Bridge. During this time, traffic will be detoured along Highway 29 from Barrineau Park Road to Chance Road in both directions. Chestnut Road is expected to re-open by December 2023.

Join us in keeping our neighborhoods clean and safe! A neighborhood cleanup for residents in Myrtle Grove Southeast will take place Wednesday, Nov. 15. This is a chance for residents to dispose of items such as old furniture, appliances and household waste free of charge. Yard debris is eligible for removal during this cleanup.

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is pleased to announce it will begin extended holiday hours starting Sunday, Nov. 5. The Animal Welfare and Adoption Center will open on Sundays until Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the remainder of the year to allow the public additional opportunities to adopt.
