In an effort to reduce the mosquito population in Escambia County, the Mosquito Control Division has filed a "Notice of Intent" to proceed with fogging missions Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Commission District 5. Mission hours vary, but typically occur in the evening hours from 6-9:30 p.m.

Due to the First Judicial Circuit courts being closed, the Escambia County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller's court offices at the M.C. Blanchard Judicial Building, Theodore Bruno Building-Juvenile, Public Records Center and the Century Courthouse will be closed Monday, Sept. 30 in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

North and southbound U.S. 29 traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction south of Muscogee Road in Cantonment from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 to 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30 as crews replace the CSX railroad crossing. During the crossing work, crews will stop traffic in two intervals for approximately 15 minutes to move the new rails into place.
