In an effort to reduce the mosquito population in Escambia County, the Mosquito Control Division has filed a "Notice of Intent" to proceed with fogging missions Tuesday, June 25 in Commission Districts 1, 2 and 3. Mission hours vary, but typically occur in the evening hours from 6-9:30 p.m.

The Escambia County Water Quality and Land Management Division will install temporary floating wetlands in a county-maintained stormwater pond on Lanier Drive, south of Creighton Road. Installation of the floating wetland islands will begin Tuesday, June 25 and is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks.

Escambia County Fire Rescue firefighters and Escambia County EMS crews responded to a large commercial structure fire in the 17000 block of Perdido Key Drive Wednesday, June 19. The first units arrived on scene to find a working fire spanning multiple condos and spreading quickly due to wind and close proximity of the units to one another.
