  • District 2 Neighborhood Cleanup for Edgewater and Davenport Scheduled for Feb. 12

    Residents of Edgewater and Davenport will have the opportunity to dispose of yard debris and other items free of charge Friday, Feb. 12 during the Neighborhood Cleanup in District 2. Only residents in the designated cleanup area are able to participate in the neighborhood cleanup. Items left at the curb outside of the cleanup area will not be collected. See the map below for the details of the cleanup area.

  • Escambia County 4-H To Host Virtual Fun Run

    Escambia County 4-H is hosting a public virtual 4 mile fun run from Tuesday, March 4 to Sunday, March 14. This virtual run will support the youth of the Discovery 4-H Club as they dig into archeology opportunities across the state of Florida. This event will provide both a safe and fun way to engage in activity and keep active during these tough times.

  • Escambia County to contact applicants with incomplete Family CARES Grant

    The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners today advised staff to reach out again to approximately 2,500 Family CARES Grant applicants who do not have complete information on their application. These are the applications that are in the status "Applications Under Review" in the portal.

  • Broadband Feasibility Study Available

    Escambia County announced in December it was working with Magellan Advisors to perform a broadband feasibility study. Magellan Advisors presented a summary PowerPoint at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Jan. 14. The study found the county has large broadband gaps and faces the challenge of many diverse communities.

    Escambia County encourages residents to join in observing National Blood Donor Month for January 2021 with OneBlood. January has been recognized as National Blood Donor Month for over 50 years. OneBlood has served as the sole blood supplier for every local hospital in the Pensacola area, and the Board of County Commissioners has recognized OneBlood for their great work in the community.

  • Wintry Weather Possible Late Sunday Night into Monday Morning

    The National Weather Service of Mobile is forecasting wintry weather after midnight on Monday through the early morning hours on Monday, likely ending around 8 or 9 a.m. Escambia County will likely see cold rain; however a mix of cold rain and sleet/ice pellets is forecasted across parts of interior southeast Mississippi and interior southwest Alabama. No accumulation or impacts are expected at this time.
