Escambia County is looking forward to the Pensacola Bay Bridge reopening and would like to remind residents and visitors about the multiple ways to get to Pensacola Beach. Detour routes remain in effect until FDOT announces the bridge reopening. FDOT created an animation to assist motorists in preparing for the traffic alignment on the bridge and how to navigate the 17th Avenue Flyover.

Residents of Ensley North will have the opportunity to dispose of yard debris and other items free of charge Wednesday, May 26 during the Neighborhood Cleanup in District 3. Only residents in the designated cleanup area are able to participate in the neighborhood cleanup. Items left at the curb outside of the cleanup area will not be collected. See the map below for the details of the cleanup area.

On April 30, Escambia County closed on the acquisition of approximately 6-acres of property on Olive Road in support of the county’s efforts to improve water quality, habitat, and public access to Carpenter Creek. Funding to support the acquisition was made possible by an approximately $2 million Natural Resources Damages Assessment (NRDA) grant secured in 2020 through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

Escambia County collected and disposed of more than 115 tons (230,000 pounds) of debris during the District 3 Brownsville North Neighborhood Cleanup on May 14, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The event allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.
