The Galvez Landing boat ramp is now open for public use. A site inspection was conducted and no signs of immediate structural failure were observed. The Galvez Landing parking lot and boat ramp will still experience periodic closures for scheduled maintenance beginning Feb. 28.

At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10, the board unanimously voted to proclaim Feb. 11, 2022 as “General Daniel ‘Chappie’ James Day.” General James was honored posthumously on his 102nd birthday, recognizing the lifetime of achievements of an individual who pursued and attained excellence during his life.

The Galvez Landing boat ramp is closed for maintenance until further notice. Marine Resources has determined that repairs are necessary to ensure public safety for accessing the ramp. A new notice will be issued once the ramp has been determined safe for public use.
