On Thursday, Dec. 15, Escambia County was approved for $14.2 million in funding toward OLF-8 in Beulah by Triumph Gulf Coast after a unanimous 7-0 vote by the Triumph board of directors. The funding will go toward the development of roadways, sewage and drainage on the east side of OLF-8.

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare will offer a "Home for the Holidays" adoption special now through Dec. 31, 2022. Anyone looking to adopt will be able to take home a cat or kitten for $10, or a dog or puppy for just $25. Escambia County residents are required to pay a separate $11 licensing fee at the time of adoption.
