During the Feb. 16 Escambia County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board discussed proposed infrastructure repair projects in Escambia County as part of the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program. Led by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's Office of Long-Term Resiliency, the program is designed to fund infrastructure restoration and hardening projects in communities impacted by Hurricane Sally.

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is offering free Valentine's Day adoptions on all dogs in the shelter now through Tuesday, Feb. 14. Adoption fees include spay or neutering services, microchips, heartworm tests and the initial vaccinations including rabies vaccinations.

Escambia County Area Transit is proud to announce the arrival of three new Gillig buses and building enhancements to the Rosa L. Parks Transit Complex. The new buses and building enhancements were announced during the "STEP Into Transit" event on Feb. 7. ECAT also promoted the Student Transit Empowerment Pass, a bus pass that allows youth in grades K-12 to ride the bus for free during the school year.
