Chipley, Florida – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Escambia County as crews perform construction and maintenance activities. For the upcoming holiday season, there will be no lane closures or other activities which impede traffic on state roads beginning at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 and ending at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

UF/IFAS Escambia County Extension will host a new session of "The Science Hour" beginning Thursday, Jan. 11. Offered once a month for 11 months, the series will explore local topics such as solar energy, artificial reefs, pollinators and more. Each session is free to the public and held at the Escambia County Central Office Complex.

As part of the transition to a new online payment system for Escambia County Building Services, contractor escrow account payments will no longer be accepted beginning Monday, Jan. 1. While online payments will not be available until mid-January, fees can continue to be paid in cash, checks, money orders, and with debit cards and credit cards over the phone, in person and via fax.
