UF/IFAS Escambia County Extension 4-H Foundation will hold a financial committee meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Langley Bell 4-H Center, located at 3730 Stefani Road, Cantonment. The 4-H Foundation board of directors meeting will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. in the same location.

An attorney/client session regarding the sheriff's budget appeal will start at 8 a.m., followed by Agenda Review at 9 a.m. Public Forum takes place at 4:30 p.m., and the Regular Board Meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Escambia County Animal Shelter hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, Jan. 29 for a shelter reopening after extensive shelter renovations. The renovations are part of a grant valued at $75,000 from GreaterGood.org's Rescue Rebuild, a volunteer program that works to rebuild, repair and renovate animal shelters and rescues in need.

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. until noon at Escambia High School, located at 1310 N. 65th Ave. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.
