As part of the Pensacola Bay Bridge Replacement Project, AT&T will be performing utility construction from midnight - 6 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19. Residents of Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze - Midway in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties can expect interruptions in their telephone landline, internet, and television service during this time.

Due to recent inclement weather conditions and Hurricane Irma, drainage work scheduled to take place earlier this month was rescheduled. Broad Street will be closed on the west side of the U.S. 29 intersection in Escambia County from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25 as crews place new drainage. Detroit Boulevard and Untreiner Avenue will be utilized as alternate routes.

With the final Hurricane Irma evacuees having left the shelter, the American Red Cross will close its host shelter operations located at the Pensacola Bay Center at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 14. The last three shelterees left at 9:45 am. The Equestrian Center continues to house evacuated horses, with 13 being housed at the center as of this morning.

The Escambia County Animal Shelter will open today, Thursday, Sept. 14 at 12:30 p.m. for adoptions instead of the usual 11 a.m. opening time. Normal business hours will resume after the shelter opens at 12:30 p.m.
