Chipley– The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting concerning proposed improvements to State Road (S.R.) 173 (South Blue Angel Parkway) from S.R. 292 (Sorrento Road) to S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Church Blue Angel Campus, 2221 South Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola.
The intent will address future capacity and safety issues on South Blue Angel Parkway including:
- Widening the roadway from two to four-lanes with 12-foot travel lanes separated by a 30-foot median
- Outside bike lanes.
- Shared use path on the east side between S.R. 292 (Sorrento Road) and County Road 297 (Dog Track Road).
- Sidewalks on both sides.
- Drainage improvements and construction of stormwater ponds.
- Intersection improvements at Sorrento Road, Dog Track Road, and U.S. 98.
Right-of-way acquisition is required and funding anticipated to begin in Fiscal Years 2020-2021. The project is not yet funded for construction in the FDOT Five-Year Work Program.
