The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of Escambia County. Temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing with wintry precipitation, with a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow with accumulation of .1 inch overnight. Some parts of the county will not see temperatures above freezing until Friday. A dangerously low wind chill is forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with Pensacola forecast to be 13 degrees at 7 a.m. when factoring the wind. A hard freeze warning is in effect for Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Tolls at the Bob Sikes Bridge Toll Plaza will be lifted tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 16, beginning at 8 p.m. due to forecast weather conditions and potentially icy roads. Tolls will be reinstated at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning proposed improvements on U.S. 98 Business (West Garden Street) at Barrancas Avenue in Escambia County Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pensacola Public Library, 239 N. Spring Street. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.
