On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Escambia County Fire Rescue placed two red bulbs on the wreath following two residential structure fires in the morning. The two red bulbs are the first to be placed on the wreath during the 2022 "Keep the Wreath Green" campaign.

At the installation and organization meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 22, the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners recognized the newly appointed and re-installed commissioners as well as the new chairman and vice chairman. Each November, the board holds a reorganization meeting during which the new chairman and vice chairman assume their roles.

On Friday, Nov. 18, Escambia County Fire Rescue honored the late ECFR District Chief Dwain Bradshaw during the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, Fla. The memorial service is an annual event held to honor firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 12, the Genealogy Library collection will move to the Pensacola Library at 239 N. Spring St. The public may visit the Genealogy Library at 5470 N. 9th Ave. until its closure at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. The physical location will rejoin the Pensacola State College campus in 2023.
