    Escambia County Fire Rescue will be installing free smoke detectors Saturday, May 20 during a neighborhood canvas in the Harvesters Homes subdivision off Muscogee Road in Cantonment. ECFR will be going door to door starting at 8 a.m., walking the neighborhood and offering to install a smoke detector.

    Effective Tuesday, June 6 the stop sign at the intersection of Nokomis Road and Meadows Lane will change to help improve safety in Commission District 5. Currently, there is a single stop sign on the westbound lane of Nokomis Road. On June 6 the stop sign will be moved to the southbound lane of Meadows Lane.

  • Carriage Hills/Creekside Oaks Neighborhood Cleanup Collects 21 Tons of Debris

    Escambia County collected and disposed of more than 21 tons (42,360 pounds) of debris during the May 10 Carriage Hills/Creekside Oaks Neighborhood Cleanup, as part of the county's ongoing effort to help keep local neighborhoods and communities clean and safe. The event allowed residents to leave items at the curb to be disposed of free of charge by the county and partnering agencies.

  • Casino Beach Parking Lot Changes Now in Effect

    If you are headed to the Pensacola Beach, remember that access into and exiting the Casino Beach parking lot along Via De Luna Drive and Fort Pickens Road has been modified. The parking lot will now function in a circular configuration in order to improve traffic movements within the lot.

    Beginning Saturday, access into and exiting the Casino Beach parking lot along Via De Luna Drive and Fort Pickens Road will be modified. The only entrance into the parking lot will now be located at the existing access along Via De Luna Drive, located next to Sidelines Sports Bar and across the street from Flounder’s Chowder House. The only exit from the parking lot will be from the existing access along Fort Pickens Road near the public restrooms/Public Safety Building. The parking lot will function in a circular configuration in order to improve traffic movements within the lot.
