April 2018 Meeting
More than 150 people attended the Pensacola Congestion Management Plan Public Workshop on April 23. Residents, business owners and concerned citizens were able to view project display boards and talk with county staff and consultants individually during the first portion of the meeting. During the second portion of the meeting, attendees were given the opportunity to fill out question/comment cards regarding the project. The cards were read aloud and a panel of county staff, engineering consultants and Santa Rosa Island Authority board members responded to all questions.
October 2016 Meeting
The consultants reviewed attendees’ shared sketches and ideas for long-term improvements to Pensacola Beach. From these, a list of possible projects was made. The county presented that list at a second public meeting on Oct. 25 so that citizens could decide on project priorities. Each proposed project’s cost will now be determined. From that, the consultant will develop the Pensacola Beach Congestion Management Plan and Capital Improvement Program, which will be taken to the Board of County Commissioners and SRIA for review and final approval.
Kick-off Meeting
On April 28, 2016, the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners held a public kick-off meeting for the Pensacola Beach Congestion Management Plan. More than 100 people attended, including residents, business owners and other concerned citizens. The open house format began with a short video that gave a brief overview of the project. Attendees were then invited to share their insights with county consultants, both one-on-one and in small groups.
